Slim Down With This Easy To Follow 3-Day Detox
If you follow me on instagram and snapchat (username: arteresalynn), then you know that last week I completed, no I killed this easy to follow 3-day detox. It started off as a 3-day detox but since I love a good challenge I extended it to 5 days. I posted the picture below saying how snatched my waist was looking, because the detox helps to get rid of bloating, and my comments and DM’s blew up! I mean, it really was going down in my DM. I responded to almost all of the messages but I figured it would be best to share my experience and all the details here.
The Drinks
There are 3 different drinks for this detox. One for breakfast, one for lunch, and another drink for dinner. You can have up to 5 drinks for the day. The other 2 drinks are your snacks that you can have between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and dinner. For your 2 snack drinks you choose your 2 favorite drinks out of the 3.
So I’m sure you are all wondering how the drinks taste right? Well the breakfast drink was by far my favorite and is actually pretty good! The lunch drink was okay. It wasn’t bad at first, but by day 4 I most definitely was sick of it. I also wasn’t a fan of the texture and consistency of the lunch drink. Now the dinner drink was hands down the worst one. It was hard to get down but absolutely manageable. I think it was the avocado that I was struggling with. Although I love avocado I discovered with this 3-day detox that I prefer to not blend and drink it.
The Struggle – My Experience
I’m going to be all the way honest with you, day 1 the struggle was oh so real. I was hungry, slightly light-headed, and felt weak. The drama queen in me would love to say that I was miserable but I really wasn’t. It was tough and it was a challenge but I set a goal and I was determined. Each day got better and better. Believe it or not by day 2 I was no longer weak but I was still a little hungry. To help with my hunger I did occasionally have an apple or a small plate of spinach. I only kept to the ingredients that were included in the drinks. Once I got to day 3 I was no longer hungry, just dissatisfied. I had a whole list of other things that I’d rather be eating.
Why Did I Decide To Do The 3-Day Detox
I wanted to do the 3-day detox because my eating habits were getting a little out of control. As a result I was beginning to have no energy and feeling really sluggish. Not only that but I noticed I was constantly bloated. I did the detox as a reset on my diet so that I can cleanse and start over with making healthier eating choices. Now does this mean that I’m not having In N Out, sweets, or junk food anymore? It most certainly does not! That’s not living to me. I’m just going to make an effort to make better decisions in regards to the food I eat. I don’t really need fast food 3-4 times a week.
Now although I didn’t do the detox to lose weight I did lose 4.5 lbs in the 5 days. I did not work out any during the 5 days because I didn’t want to push it and feel weak. But if you feel like you have the strength, go for it!!
What To Do After The Detox
After the detox you want to ease your way back into eating solid food. This means don’t go all out on your first day off the detox. Start with maybe keeping 2 drinks as meals and having a salad or chicken and veggies. Then gradually increase to a healthy meal suitable for you and your goals.
Helpful Tips
- Be sure you are taking a daily multi-vitamin during the detox.
- Drink plenty of water. I know for me this was a little difficult because I was already drinking so much but don’t neglect your water intake!
- Listen to your body! If you can only do 3 days then do that. 5 days worked for me but it may not be for everybody. Also, if you feel the 5 drinks aren’t enough and you’re feeling beyond slightly light-headed have a piece of fruit or vegetables.
